Privacy policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information Straight Talk South Africa ("we", "us") collects, why, and your rights. It is written for readers anywhere, including the European Economic Area, the UK and the United States.
Who is responsible
Straight Talk South Africa is responsible for personal information collected through this website. Contact us at blakeworkie@gmail.com about anything in this policy, including requests to access, correct or delete your information.
What we collect
When you browse the site, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request, to deliver the site and protect it from attacks. We don't run our own analytics or tracking scripts, and we don't ask you to create an account.
When you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply, fix our guides or improve future ones.
We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16.
Cookies, advertising and Google
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site does not set its own tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies.
Advertising. We use, or may use, Google AdSense to show ads on this site. When ads are shown:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
- Read how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
Affiliate links. Some links may be affiliate links. If you click one, the retailer or network may set a cookie to record that you came from us, so we can be paid a commission if you buy. That cookie is set by them under their own privacy policy.
Measurement. If we add analytics (for example Google Analytics or Cloudflare Web Analytics) to see which guides are useful, we'll list it here first and ask for consent where the law requires it.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them.
Visitors in the EEA, UK and Switzerland (GDPR and UK GDPR)
- Legal bases. We process technical data to run and secure the site (legitimate interests), reply to your emails (legitimate interests), and use non-essential cookies such as personalised advertising cookies only with your consent.
- Consent. Before personalised ads are shown to you, you'll be asked for consent through a Google-certified consent message. You can change your choice at any time.
- Your rights. You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your personal information, restrict or object to our processing, withdraw consent, and ask for a copy in a portable format. You can also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office).
- International transfers. Our service providers (Cloudflare and Google) may process data outside your country, under their own data protection terms and approved safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
Your rights in the US (including California)
Depending on the state you live in, laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) give you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. We don't sell personal information for money. When personalised Google ads are switched on, the advertising cookies described above may count as "sharing" under some state laws, so before personalised ads go live we will show a "Do not sell or share my personal information" option through Google's privacy messaging. You can also use a Global Privacy Control signal in your browser. To exercise any right, email us; we won't treat you differently for doing so.
How long we keep it
We keep emails for as long as we need them to deal with your message, and no more than 24 months, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Hosting logs are kept by Cloudflare under its own retention policy.
Security
The site is served only over an encrypted connection. No system is perfectly secure, so please don't email us anything sensitive such as passport, bank or medical details.
Changes
We'll update this page and the date at the top if anything changes.
